Yazid ibn Al-Aswad reported: I witness the Hajj pilgrimage with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and I prayed the dawn prayer with him in the mosque of Al-Khaif. When the Prophet finished his prayer and turned around, he saw two men in the back of the people who had not prayed with him. The Prophet said, “I must see them both.” I brought them while they were trembling with fear. The Prophet said, “What stopped you both from praying with us?” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, we had already prayed at our camp.” The Prophet said, “Do not do so. If you pray in your camp and then come to a congregation in the mosque, pray with them for it will be awarded to you as a voluntary deed.

Al-Tirmidhi said, “It is the opinion of more than one of the scholars and it was said by Sufyan al-Thawri, Al-Shafi’i, Ahmad, and Ishaq. They said if a man prays alone and then reached the congregation, he should repeat all of the prayers with the congregation.”

Our Services

We encourage all the Muslim brothers who are available, except those with a valid excuse to miss the congregation, to attend the congregational salah for Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha.

Abu al-Ahwas reported: Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Whoever would be pleased to meet Allah tomorrow as a Muslim, let him guard over these prayers when they are announced. Verily, Allah has instituted for His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, practices of guidance, for they are indeed practices of guidance. If you were to pray in your houses like one who keeps to his house, you would have abandoned the practice of your Prophet, and if you were to abandon a practice of your Prophet, you have been misguided. No man purifies himself in the best manner and then proceeds to one of these mosques but that Allah records a good deed for every step he takes, raises him by a degree, and erases a sin. We have seen a time when no one leaves it but a hypocrite whose hypocrisy is known, whereas a weak man would come being carried by two men until he was placed within the rows.”
